Wait. Wait. This is not my hat.

I am Katie. I go to grad school or something. I live in Virginia. You are now bored with this autobiography.

This is my Twitter, where I am annoying in shorter spurts.

This is my blog of poems and prose I like.

This is my blog of food that I've made.

Ask me a question here.

Who I Follow

  • I have been secretly working on my grad school application at work. I’m used to the new stuff enough that my mind can wander. I think the tiny opportunity to be creative is keeping me sane-ish.
  • My hands keep getting intensely dry. Touching paper all day.
  • Sitting in one place and staring at a computer screen all day takes it out of you in an odd way. I still prefer it to what I did before.
  • I love having a little inter-office language. “I’m doing consumer-side non-core OCR.”
  • Getting up at 6 AM daily. Still not used to it. I still fall asleep at 6 PM and sleep twelve hours straight once or twice a week.
  • Discovering the secrets to cheap eats in the Loop. And the whereabouts of the two nearest Chipotles. This is dangerous.
  • I leave for Baton Rouge next Wednesday.
  • Meg came over and we made cupcakes. It was wonderful to get away from things.
  • This application is due next Wednesday. I will be done by Monday. Not want to. Will.
  • I got a $50 ticket today for being parked on the wrong side of the street during street cleaning. I checked this morning before work and I didn’t see any street cleaning warning signs. I should contest the ticket. I probably won’t bother. I am too poor to live in this city.
  • The tailor almost has my bridesmaid dress ready. Wish I hadn’t gained fifteen pounds and stopped exercising before having to wear a tight strapless dress in a bunch of wedding photos.
  • The dress, the extra fabric, the alteration - over $400 total. Christ.
  • La vie. C’est.
